RSA Arts Fest

On Tuesday 9th July 12 RSA students across Y9 and Y8 had been selected to attend the RSA main office in London to take part in the annual ‘RSA Arts Fest’ which involves RSA academies across the country working with artists and practitioners across the day. This year’s theme was ‘Citizen’s of the Future’ and students had the opportunity to take part in a variety of arts workshops such as; stilt walking, flag making, acro-balance, digital art, beatboxing and spoken word, developing new skills.  A performance of these skills were showcased at the end of the day in front of a large audience. As part of the day students could bring in art work they had created in their own time to enter for the Arts Prize, Isabelle Cowley Y9 received a special commendation for her wonderful work around the theme ‘World Beyond School.’
Students were really engaged throughout the duration of the day and performed well in front of an audience, they finished off the day with a short visit to embankment and Trafalgar Square to enjoy some street performances as well as sight seeing in the warm weather.
Mrs Geal and Mr Lee would like to thank students for making the day such a memorable one!
